Shaping Policies for People and Planet
At PRADO, we believe that sound policies are the foundation of sustainable development and inclusive growth. Our Policy Research Program is designed to generate evidence-based insights that influence decision-making and drive systemic change in Bangladesh and beyond. Our policy research aims to facilitate evidence-based policymaking in the face of societal issues. We offer solid data to support the timely and easily accessible creation and application of policies, including evaluations of their possible effects and cost-effectiveness.

Types of our policy
On average, policy research comes in two types:
Policy analysis: Policy analysis involves comparing different policies, methods, and tactics to determine which is best. This evaluation technique is frequently applied while creating policies and establishing strategies and procedures for their implementation.
Policy Evaluation: Research techniques are used to ascertain the effects of a specific program, policy, or process. After the policy or program is put into place, research assessment will be implemented and applied to assess success and, if needed, modify policy.
Our Key Focus Area
Through rigorous research, data analysis, and stakeholder consultation, we explore the most pressing social, economic, and environmental issues of our time. Our research focuses on identifying gaps, evaluating existing policies, and proposing practical, scalable solutions that promote equity, justice, and long-term impact.

Education Equity Study
Every student in an equitable educational system has the resources and assistance they require to realize their greatest potential.
Being adaptable and responsive in a variety of domains, such as curriculum design, teaching methods, school choice, and study pathways, should be a top priority for education policies.
By enhancing access equity, we establish educational settings that provide equal opportunity for all students to thrive in the future.
We pinpoint gaps in infrastructure, instruction, and accessibility to try to promote inclusive policies that guarantee underprivileged populations—like girls, ethnic minorities, and low-income students—equal access to education and skill-building opportunities.
Climate Impact Policy Review
A major initiative of PRADO, the Climate Impact Policy Review aims to evaluate and fortify Bangladesh's framework of policies for sustainable development and climate resilience.
The study brings together policymakers, environmental scientists, legal experts, and community leaders to identify gaps in current legislation, suggest practical reforms, and establish consensus on how to move toward a future that is climate-secure.
We examine how Bangladesh's vulnerabilities—such as floods, salinity intrusion, and displacement—are made worse by climate change and assess the effectiveness of current disaster preparedness and adaptation measures.
Our objective is to implement changes that will include climate resilience into local and national frameworks. We are giving sustainable resource management and community protection top priority.

Youth Employment & Policy Reform
The Youth Employment & Policy Reform program of PRADO aims to assess the employment situation of young people in Bangladesh. We identify systemic policy flaws and suggest specific solutions.
Through the integration of quantitative data analysis and active stakeholder involvement, the initiative aims to empower youth and guarantee that national employment policies adequately address the quickly changing labor market of today.
We identify gaps between current youth employment strategies and practical issues like skill mismatches or regional differences. Young people can realize their potential and future job possibilities by developing supporting social policies, increasing employment options, and improving their skills.
Public Health Infrastructure Assessment
The goal of health policy research is to comprehend the potential effects of laws, rules, and practices on public health. In a variety of subject areas, our team assists health department executives in tribal, regional, state, and area health departments with legal and policy enhancing capacity.
In order to give healthcare workers the legal expertise, abilities, and knowledge needed to promote equitable public health policies, it addresses fundamental legal issues regarding public health authority and offers training and resources.
We collaborate with health agencies and exchange data to help them make evidence-based decisions and spot disease outbreaks more quickly, protecting the health of the populations they serve. Sharing public health information effectively improves the health of communities and saves lives.
We concentrate on assessing healthcare systems' equity, quality, and accessibility, especially in isolated or crisis-prone areas. In order to promote investments in inclusive health infrastructure and guarantee that underserved communities receive prompt, reasonably priced, and dignified care, we want to draw attention to deficiencies in emergency preparedness, workforce, and facility capabilities.

Gender Policy Tracker
The dynamic Gender Policy Tracker project from PRADO has been developed to track, evaluate, and promote gender-responsive policies in Bangladesh.
We hold power structures accountable to gender equity goals by assessing institutional practices, legal frameworks, and government commitments.
Our objective is to make Bangladesh an upper-middle-income nation. The gender equality section highlights Bangladesh's achievements in enhancing women's lives as well as the obstacles that lie ahead.
In order to prepare children for adulthood, our study ensures that both boys and girls have sufficient access to health care, education, and other essential skills and information. We concentrated on women's access to the workforce and their ability to seek respectable employment.
Supporting maternal health and HIV/AIDS prevention are the main goals of this policy commitment. The goal of this program is to provide women with access to reasonably priced health care and services.
We examine obstacles to females' education and career preparation, especially in rural or climate-affected areas.
Why Policy Research Matters?
Policies shape lives. Yet, too often, marginalized voices are excluded from the conversations that define their futures. PRADO’s research prioritizes these voices, turning lived experiences into data-driven recommendations that challenge injustice and reimagine systems.
We focus on:
- Equity-Centered Analysis: Highlighting disparities in access to rights, resources, and opportunities.
- Accountability: Holding institutions accountable to human rights and environmental commitments.
- Future-Proofing: Designing policies that address today’s crises while building resilience for tomorrow.
